How would your life have been impacted if you had learned LGBTQ history in school?
Imagine if you had learned about the LGBTQ heroes who shaped our world—figures like Josephine Baker, the legendary entertainer who risked her life as a spy in the French Resistance during World War II, or Pauli Murray, whose work influenced the civil rights movement and expanded legal protection for gender equality (and so much more).
Theirs and the stories of other LGBTQ folks are left out of American textbooks, leaving us with a fractured image of ourselves in time. Students deserve to see a complete story of who "we the people" really are. Especially NOW!
So please, join us and special guest Danny Roberts of MTV’s "Real World - New Orleans" on April 5th to celebrate, learn, and explore supporting this important work to keep the needle moving forward.
